Our Village Bonfire

By Henry Finchett

On Friday the 6th of November, our village (Lower Framilode) held a bonfire and fireworks party.
Everybody contributed some money for fireworks and everybody came with some food.

Once it was dark the bonfire was lit. As the party was by the river, we could see fireworks from all around Gloucester. Some people were eating and drinking, some were watching the fireworks and some people were playing football.
We had a range of fireworks, from Rockets to Catherine wheels. The display lasted about ten minutes but everyone stayed much longer to socialise and to watch the bonfire burn.

A couple of villagers went back the next day to make sure the bonfire was properly out and to collect up the firework cases.
