Arlingham - 'Antiquities of Arlingham Parish'

This large A4 format book, Antiquities of Arlingham Parish, runs to 128 pages and reproduces a series of articles that first appeared in Arlingham's Parish Magazine in the 1880s, written by John Sayer, a Squire of the Parish.  Covering a period from Roman Times to the late 19th Century, his articles provide a wealth of historical information on Arlingham, which is situated within a meander of the River Severn.  These articles are complemented with additional material such as a complete transcript of the 1881 Census, John Sayer's lineage, the family tree of the Yate Family of Arlingham Court, information about the Enclosure Act of 1801 and a selection of 19th century photographs.  It also includes items about other issues and events relating to the parish, such as the tragic murder of Amelia Phipps in 1873.

Proceeds are in aid of St Mary's Church, Arlingham.  Copies of the book are £11 (paperback).  Cheques payable to Arlingham PCC.
