Hi Rachel ..you might be able to help with my research into the Silvey Knight family. My mothers mother was a Silvey.

I can clarify a few of the points mentioned above. Charles Silvey sold out to BT&CC in 1932. First World War is a slip of the keyboard - it should read Second World War. Charles's final 3 coaches were all Italian-built Lancias; that in the photo is almost certainly DF 5066 which he bought new in May 1928. It looks brand new in the photo.

I recall in the early 50's Silvey ran a limited service to Gloucester from Stonehouse I think Thursday and Saturday only. Cream coaches or single decker bus. Pick dup at the top of Regent Street.  Would be good if you had any info on what type of vehicle.  Thank you.

The vehicles used on this service would I think have probably been either Bedford OB coaches Albion Victors or a Bedford SB with a duple bus body.
